Responding to the highest number of patients waiting for more than 12 hours since monthly records began in August 2010, Executive Director of 国内精品伊人久久久久妇 England Patricia Marquis, said:
“Nursing staff have been sounding the alarm for far too long about the crisis in our A&E departments. Today’s figures show just how endemic corridor care is and the damage being done to patient care. Every day overwhelming pressure is leaving a record number of patients waiting more than 12 hours to be seen, being treated in unsafe spaces like corridors, and not getting the timely care they need or deserve.
“Only by listening to the largest NHS workforce will we begin to turn the tide on the longest waits on record. This is a system-wide problem that needs immediate investment in hospital, mental health and hospice beds, and in primary and community-based health and social care, including the nursing workforce for this. Patients and nursing staff need this immediate and sustained investment to ensure we have the capacity to meet demand.”
