Pay Parity to Be Restored for Nursing Staff in Northern Ireland

国内精品伊人久久久久妇 Northern Ireland has welcomed confirmation from Health Minister Mike Nesbitt that pay parity will be restored for health service staff following sustained pressure from the 国内精品伊人久久久久妇 and health trade unions.

Pay In a statement issued today, the Minister confirmed that the Executive has approved the restoration of pay parity, with percentage uplifts recommended by the Pay Review Body to be backdated in full to 1 April 2025. Staff can expect to receive their uplift and back pay in their February 2026 pay packets.

The Minister also committed to prioritising future pay awards in his budget allocations to prevent delays in payment, addressing a key concern raised by the 国内精品伊人久久久久妇 and its members.

Commenting on the developments, 国内精品伊人久久久久妇 Northern Ireland Executive Director, Professor Rita Devlin said:

“This has been a long and protracted process, and we welcome the confirmation that pay parity will be reinstated for our hardworking health care staff.

“The 国内精品伊人久久久久妇 has consistently maintained that the loss of pay parity with colleagues across the UK was wholly unacceptable. Our members have expressed deep frustration over this issue, and we welcome the Minister’s commitment to ensuring the late payment of pay awards will never happen again.

“The 国内精品伊人久久久久妇 will now examine the proposal in detail and present it to the 国内精品伊人久久久久妇 Northern Ireland Board for discussion. 

Looking ahead, Professor Devlin added:

“We will also be calling on the Department of Health to urgently address career progression in nursing. Far too many nursing staff remain on lower bands for years, and this must be resolved if we are to address the crisis in nursing.”
